Parcels that cannot be delivered

Parcels that cannot be delivered are returned to the sender unless the sender has clearly stated on the transport label that he permits a waiver for the parcel. The sender will be charged for the return price in accordance with the agreement.

Time guarantee

Liability is regulated by NSAB 2015. Liability for damage is, in accordance with these provisions, limited to SDR 8.33 per kg for the lost gross weight of the goods. Compensation will not paid for delays or consequential damage. Compensation is normally paid to the sender. There should be documentation proving that the parcel was handed in. Apart from the rules regarding claims in NSAB 2015, demands and claims must be submitted at the latest 6 months after handing in the parcel. For parcels sent via the additional service, Cash On Delivery, Bring Parcels must have received claims within two months.

Liability

Liability is regulated by NSAB 2015. Liability for compensation, loss, shortage or damage to the goods is limited to SDR 8.33 per kilogram of gross weight for the part of the goods that is lost, missing or damaged. No compensation is provided for delay or consequential damages. Compensation is normally paid to the sender. It must be documented that the package has been handed in. In addition to the rules on complaints in NSAB 2015, inquiries and complaints must be submitted no later than 6 months after submission.

Maximum weight/Maximum dimensions

  • Maximum weight to Denmark, Finland and Sweden: 35 kg.
  • Most other countries: 30 kg.
  • Maximum length 150 cm and length + circumference a maximum of 300 cm.

Price

The price is always calculated based on the current price list. The price is made up of a basic price and kilo surcharge. The price depends on the weight and recipient country/zone. The price is determined according to the chargeable weight of the parcel, i.e. the higher of the actual weight and volume weight. Export declaration is included in the price. Standard import declaration duty is included in the price for price zones 1-6. Any customs charges and VAT are always paid for by the recipient. A surcharge is calculated for parcels over 120 cm long and with a width and/or height over 60 cm. The same applies to roll-shaped and unpackaged parcels.

Labelling

Approved address cards/transport labels with the customer's name and address must be used. If non-approved transport labels are used, the parcels may be rejected. The Customer must bear the production cost of transport labels. The recipient's name, postal address and delivery address must be written clearly and ideally a telephone number as well. If the delivery address is not entered, the sender may be charged a wrong address fee. It is the sender’s responsibility to enclose the necessary customs documentation.

Wrapping

It is the sender's responsibility to ensure that the contents of a parcel are properly packaged. There is often a lot of reloading and resorting along the way, and this must be taken into consideration when assessing the type of packaging. The packaging must be solid and large enough for the item that is being sent. Fragile items must be packed in shock-absorbent material that withstands pressure and shock, thereby protecting the contents. Goods placed on pallets must generally be wrapped, strapped or packaged in a way that provides optimum protection against damage and ensures that goods stay together on the pallet during transport.

Prohibited contents:

Shipments may not contain:

  • currency, banknotes, precious metals,
  • gemstones, real pearls or similar high-value goods
  • weapons*, weapon parts and ammunition
  • alcoholic beverages**
  • cigarettes, snus, tobacco or similar
  • human remains, urns or similar containing ash
  • living or dead animals
  • temperature sensitive content
  • hazardous goods except for limited amount of dangerous goods.

The value of the content may not exceed EUR 10,000 per parcel and EUR 100,000 per pallet. Certain goods may be subject to trade restrictions, which may change on an ongoing basis. It is the Customer's responsibility to keep up to date and comply with applicable laws and regulations. It is also the Customer's responsibility not to export or import prohibited content to the current recipient or sender country.

*A weapon is any object that is defined/classified as such in the customs tariff. All firearms, including gun barrels and chamber lengths, crossbows, pointed weapons with a blade longer than 12 cm, flick knives, sheath knives, fighting gloves, police batons, clubs, etc.

**Prohibition of shipments containing alcoholic beverages applies for all B2C parcels with delivery in Sweden and for all B2C parcels, shipped as Bulksplit shipment, with delivery in Norway. Furthermore, import and export of alcoholic beverages are subject to mandatory legal restrictions in various countries.

Customs documentation

Three copies of the commercial/pro forma invoice per parcel. To obtain preferential customs processing, the goods’ country of origin in the EU/EEA must be documented. Necessary licences/permits must also be enclosed.

Special price conditions

Bring Parcels is entitled to change prices to compensate for increased fuel costs, currency changes and State increases or other conditions outside of the control of Bring Parcels, or alternatively may add a fee (fuel surcharge) to the agreed price. Bring Parcels is entitled to change this fee without giving prior notification to the customer. The fuel surcharge must be specified on the invoice and applies to ordinary transport and also any pallet loads.

Bring Parcels reserves the right to impose a fee for wrong addresses and missing, insufficient or delayed EDI transfers to Bring Parcels. The fee will be specified on the invoice.
