This describes the conditions associated with Registered shipments ordered in Mybring, API or via TA suppliers.

1. What can be sent?

Postal items up to 2 kg can be sent as registered letters, but registered items abroad can only contain documents, not dutiable goods.

The service includes a receipt proving that the letter has been handed-in. The recipient must sign for the delivery and show a valid identification.

2. Formats, measurements and weight

Registered letters are priced in four formats:

Minimum letter size: 9 x 14 cm

Maximum letter size: Length up to 60 cm. L + W + T = max 90 cm

Maximum weight of letter: 2000 grams.

For registered shipments abroad, only documents in the Small and Large formats are allowed. Larger items can be sent as parcels

3. Prices and discounts

Registered letters are priced in four formats domestically and two internationally. You will be invoiced after the shipment has been delivered. Se price lists.

4. Postage and labelling

Registered shipments are ordered in our online store Mybring. To order, you must create a user. The service is also available via API and TA providers.
When you order, you must register the recipient's name and address, as well as their mobile phone number and/or email address. When you order, you will receive a label that will be attached to the shipment.

5. Sender/return address

The sender/return address must be registered when ordering and will appear on the label generated in the ordering solution.

6. Addressing

The label contains the recipient's name and address, as well as a package number so the shipment can be tracked until delivery within Norway. For international shipments, this may vary from country to country, but delivery will generate a tracking event.

7. Content restrictions

Registered letters within Norway cannot contain money or negotiable securities. You can only send documents abroad and not items with customs-required content. Therefore, only the Small and Large formats can be used.

The sender is responsible for ensuring that a shipment does not contain anything that is prohibited from being imported into the recipient country. 

8. Handing in

Registered letters must always be kept separately from other mail. Handing-in points are Business centres, Post offices and Post in Shops. If your company has a mail collection agreement with us, the registered letters can be delivered to the driver. The letters must be labeled before delivery. 

Registered letters cannot be posted in a regular box.

9. Delivery

Delivery time will normally be 3 business days to the pickup location. The recipient will receive a pickup notification when the shipment has arrived at the pickup location.Track and trace is available

10. Collection

Registered letters are delivered upon presentation of a collection notice. The recipient must sign and present approved identification.

Registered letters can be collected by others with authorization. Collection deadline.

Collection deadline

If the registered letters is not collected within 3 weeks, the letter will be returned to sender. A reminder will be sent the recipient after 5 days. Return after 3 weeks.

 Extended collection deadline in connection with Christmas and summer holidays:

  • Christmas: Items with a collection deadline between 23.12 and 31.12 will be returned on 4 January in the new year.
  • Summer holidays: Items with a collection deadline between 15.7 and 31.7 will be returned on 1 August.

11. Invoicing

Registration of each individual shipment at Posten's sorting terminal forms the basis for invoicing. See general payment terms, Posten Norge AS.

12. Liability

Posten Norge AS’ liability is regulated under the Norwegian Post Act § 28 and General terms and conditions of delivery for postal services. The maximum liability concerning registered letters is NOK 1,000.00 per letter.
